This member is the original thread starter. Ive been nearly scammed 3 times with this one

i used to sell a lot of stuff on ebay and started getting people doing this scam. they would bid really high prices and win my item. they would then contact me and say that they are owed £2000 from someone in my area. they say can they have this check sent to me and when it clears i can send them the rest of the money via western union. the way this was to work(im sure they thought i was stupid) was to send me a cheque from the middle of a frims cheque book(stolen while they worked their i assume. the cheque would clear and if i put it in my account then i would heave sent them the money. in a month or so time the firm who paid the cheque would query this and send the police to my house as it would have been a stolen cheque. the thief would get away scot free and i would have all the hassle. thats why i stopped using ebay.
