This member is the original thread starter. New Gas Central Heating Boiler?

Just had gas man out doing the yearly check on my gas boiler.

When I was asking him about how efficient the boilers are he said that the old boilers were about 60% and the new ones usually 90%.

He was not trying to sell me one as he told me that I would be best buying boiler myself and getting a corgi registered engineer to fit it for me.

Going with the percentages does this then does this mean that my gas bill could be reduced by a third by going for a new bolier?

With the way the gas prices are going then thought that this might make sense to do. (Especially for me as my old boiler is a real dinosaur and if it does go I do not think I will be able to get any parts for it.)

Anyone have any thoughts or advice here?
