hlp plz laptop wont start up

hi i need some hlp plz.
my mate was having problems with his laptop
and i put my restore disk in it of my desk top computer
and i got an error mesage and when i exited out of it. it now
wont start up. when i turn it on it says (A disk read error occurred press ctrl+alt+del to restart) but when i do this it just starts and comes back to the same thing. can some 1 plz hlp
