Police Hunt Swordfish And Snake Attackers
Quote:
Police in Australia are hunting two assailants who attacked a man with a swordfish during a home invasion.
The victim claims the men launched a vicious assault on him with the fish's sword-like snout.
He was left with cuts to his arms, back and hands.
The assault happened in Bundaberg, Queensland.
Paramedics treated the man for his injuries.
It was not clear where the alleged attackers found the swordfish snout or how big it was.
Police later said they may not investigate the incident because the man had withdrawn his complaint.

Man attacked by snake-wielding thugs
Following shortly on from the tale of the man who was attacked with a swordfish, comes news that four men have been arrested in America after they allegedly tried to assault a man using a snake as a weapon.
According to police, the four surrounded their intended victim in the car park of a bar and restaurant in Sumter, South Carolina, and menaced him with a cottonmouth water moccasin – a snake with an infamous (if partly undeserved) reputation for viciousness.
'It's a very poisonous snake. Probably the most venomous snake that's out there,' said Sumter's non-herpetologist police chief, whose name is Patty Patterson.
Fortunately for the victim, he managed to escape unhurt. Unfortunately for one of the perpetrators, the snake decided to bite him instead.
The bitten man, identified by authorities as Timothy Farmer, was treated in hospital. Along with two of the other men, he has been charged with the old-fashioned crime of second-degree lynching. The man who actually did the threatening, identified as Ross Farmer, is being charged with intent to kill.
Authorities have so far failed to track down the snake.
